Growing up in a Christian family and having just finished a year and a half of the Full-Time Training in Anaheim, I can honestly say that it has been a privilege untold and a blessing to have grown up in the local churches, under the ministry of Watchman Nee and Witness Lee. They were people who really gave themselves to reveal the ministry of the age today and to unveil the high peak of the divine revelation, which is to build up the Body of Christ (Ephesians 4:11-12, 15-16). They were ones who truly did not exalt the self, but instead led a daily life under the cross (Matthew 16:24; 1 Corinthians 15:31).
I never had a desire to know the Lord when I was younger, but I remember I would pray, Lord, no matter what happens, keep my heart soft to You each day. It was during my college years that I began seeking the Lord in a personal and intimate way. My parents were not there guiding me to the various choices I had to face. The conferences hosted by the local churches in southern California became more real to me. I began actively pursuing the Lord with a group of Christians I had encountered my first quarter in college. This group of Christians had something real and living that my heart could not deny, when I compared it to other Christian clubs. They practiced what Watchman Nee and Witness Lee had been endeavoring to uncover in the Bible for numerous years: the building up of the Body of Christ. Every member of the Body is vitally needed in order for the Lord to get what He is after on this earth. After realizing this, the church life has been so sweet to me and it is my real home.
